da bwin: Norwich City officially welcomed attacking midfielder Paris Maghoma to Norfolk as their third signing of the January transfer window on Monday.

da betano casino: The 24-year-old playmaker has signed from Brentford in a permanent deal with the Canaries, on a contract until 2029, with the option of extending his terms by another year, and was unveiled to the crowd ahead of the 2-1 win over league leaders Coventry.

Maghoma has not played a competitive match for the Bees since a Premier League clash with Newcastle United last April, but he will be hoping to finally get a run of games under his belt at Carrow Road.

The English midfield maestro previously caught the eye whilst on loan with Bolton Wanderers in League One in the 2023/24 campaign, scoring eight goals and providing four assists.

Norwich plotting move for League One star

Harry Amass and Maghoma may not be the only domestic talents to be snapped up by the Canaries before next Monday’s deadline, though, as the club are also reportedly looking at a League One star.

According to SportsBoom, Norwich City are one of the teams plotting a late move to sign Reading central midfielder Charlie Savage before the end of the January transfer window.

The report claims that the Canaries and fellow Championship strugglers Portsmouth are both interested in adding the Wales international to their squads in the coming days.

It adds that Reading do not want to lose their star player in the midst of a promotion battle in League One, and have set his price tag at £1.5m.

SportsBoom reveals that Norwich and Portsmouth would both be willing to pay the £1.5m required to sign him from the Royals, and it now remains to be seen who will make the first move to secure his signature.

Savage would be a better signing than Maghoma for Norwich

As exciting as Maghoma could be for Philippe Clement’s side, given his form for Bolton a few years ago, he has not played much football in recent seasons, with just ten appearances in all competitions since the start of the 2024/25 campaign.

This means that it may take him some time to settle in and adapt to playing regular football again before he shows the very best version of himself, whilst also competing with Anis Ben Slimane, who scored for the third match running against Coventry, and Oscar Schwartau for a starting berth in the number ten role.

Savage, however, has started 25 of his 26 appearances in League One for Reading this season, per Sofascore, and played in 45 of their 46 third tier matches in the 2024/25 campaign, which shows that he is very rarely unavailable and would arrive at Carrow Road ready to hit the ground running.

The Wales international, who was once hailed for his “incredible” running stats by manager Duncan Ferguson, is an all-action midfielder who could provide Pelle Mattsson and Kenny McLean with vital cover and competition, with Mirko Topic out with an ACL injury.

Jacob Wright is currently an option to play in the double pivot, as he did in the 5-1 win over Walsall, but he is more of a tempo-setting midfielder who can dictate play, rather than a combative type who can offer what Mattsson and McLean offer out of possession.

As you can see in the table above, Savage excels among League One midfielders in several in and out of possession metrics, which speaks to his ability to influence games on both sides of the ball.

Like Mattsson, he has the physicality, mobility, and positioning to win duels and tackles at an impressive rate, which may be needed after the Dane went off injured on Monday, but he also has the creative quality on the ball, like McLean, to make things happen in the final third.

This suggests that he could provide excellent cover for either of them at the base of the midfield, allowing Clement to give McLean or Mattsson a rest when needed, if he can make the step up to the Championship.

That is why the 22-year-old midfielder could be an even better signing for the Canaries than Maghoma, as he has the potential to provide cover for two different players and he has a run of games under his belt to suggest that he can perform instantly.

Knapper pursuing £6m star who can finally end Sargent's Norwich career

Norwich City are reportedly interested in a deal to sign a new centre-forward who could be the end of Josh Sargent at Carrow Road.

Whilst the Brentford attacking midfielder is an exciting prospect who has shown quality in the past, Savage is a player who is in form and ready to make an instant impact in the fight to avoid relegation.

If Norwich can get both of these deals over the line before the deadline, though, then Clement could have plenty of options to work with in his midfield set-up for the second half of the campaign.
