A strong first-innings batting display, and a nine-wicket match haul from the fast bowler Ethy Mbhalati set up Titans‘ 10-wicket win against Warriors in Port Elizabeth. Titans, opting to bat, rode on Roelof van der Merwe’s 100, and his 138-run, sixth-wicket stand with David Wiese (81) to compile 448.Warriors never really got going in their reply, as Mbhalati collected 6 for 33 to run through the team for 148 inside 44 overs. With a 300-run lead in hand, Titans enforced the follow on. Warriors did not fare much better in their second dig, as regular blows from Mbhalati (3 for 68) and Shaun von Berg (4 for 112) struck at regular intervals to peg back the team. At 198 for 9, Warriors looked to be heading towards an innings defeat, but Colin Ingram struck a defiant ton (115*) and added 102 for the last wicket with Basheeru-Deen Walters (55) to lift the team to 300 and make Titans come out again. With just one run needed, Titans’ opener Heino Kuhn sealed the victory by stroking the third ball of the innings for four.
