However, when his deal with the Dons ended this summer he joined fellow League 1 side Charlton under boss Lee Bowyer.
Since then, the London-born Montserrat international has netted nine goals and provided four assists in 17 league matches for the Addicks, firing them to sixth place in the table with eight wins, four draws and five losses so far this season. He is surely worth between £2m-£3m.
